Role Overview

As the Sales Manager for East Asia, you will be responsible for driving sales and market share in the region by building relationships with key online platforms (e-commerce), distributors, and retailers. You will manage all aspects of the sales process—from lead generation and negotiation to closing deals and maintaining strong, long-term partnerships. This role requires a proactive, self-motivated individual with a proven track record in sales, ideally in the children's product or consumer goods sectors, with specific experience in the East Asian market.

Key Responsibilities

Sales Strategy & Execution:

  - Develop and implement a comprehensive sales strategy for online platforms, distributors, and retail partners in East Asia.

  - Identify and target potential customers across multiple channels, including e-commerce, wholesale distributors, and brick-and-mortar retailers.

  - Drive revenue growth by achieving sales targets and expanding market share.

Account Management:

  - Build and nurture relationships with key accounts (retailers, distributors, e-commerce partners), ensuring long-term customer satisfaction and loyalty.

  - Manage all aspects of sales negotiations, including pricing, contracts, and product placement.

Market Research & Analysis:

  - Conduct regular market research to identify emerging trends, customer preferences, and competitive activity in the children’s product sector.

  - Provide feedback to the UK headquarters on market opportunities and local customer needs to inform product development and marketing efforts.

Business Development:

  - Seek out and establish new partnerships, both with online platforms (e.g., Lazada, Shopee, Tmall) and with traditional retail and distribution networks.

  - Attend trade shows, networking events, and industry conferences to promote the brand and expand your network.

Reporting & Forecasting:

  - Prepare regular sales reports, forecasts, and pipeline updates for senior management in the UK.

  - Monitor sales performance against KPIs and adjust strategies to ensure targets are met or exceeded.

Requirements

Experience:

  - Proven sales track record, with at least 5 years in a sales or business development role, preferably within children’s products, toys, or consumer goods.

  - Experience selling to East Asian markets (China, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, etc.) with a deep understanding of local business practices and market dynamics.

  - Experience working with major online platforms (e.g., Tmall, JD.com, Shopee) and traditional retail/distribution channels.

Skills:

  - Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.

  - Ability to manage multiple accounts, prioritize tasks, and work independently.

  - Proficiency in market analysis and sales forecasting.

  - Fluent in English, with proficiency in at least one East Asian language (e.g., Mandarin, Korean, Japanese) strongly preferred.

Personal Qualities:

  - Hands-on, self-starter with a proactive and entrepreneurial mindset.

  - Adaptable and able to work effectively in a remote environment.

  - Passion for children’s products and an understanding of the needs and preferences of the target market.

Benefits

- Competitive salary with performance-based bonuses.

- Opportunity to shape the company’s growth in a key international market.

- Flexibility to work remotely with travel as needed for meetings and trade shows.

- Professional development opportunities and potential for career growth within a fast-growing UK company.
